Antique georgian old cut diamond ring, in 18 carat gold

An absolutely stunning heirloom piece crisply hallmarked 1805, decorated with five *gorgeous*, lively, sparkling old cut diamonds, unbelievably in almost untouched condition considering its age. Striking hues of bright and buttery high carat gold throughout the shank/band, leading up to chunky, detailed shoulders which prop up the open gallery impressively. The diamonds are each set in a prong or claw setting, five of them sitting pretty upon the face of the ring.

This piece has a domed form to it, the open gallery creating an effortlessly elegant feel. This rings side profile is unreal, the high summit or peaks of each hand-cut diamond are visible in all their glory and just incredible. Old cuts, popular from the early 18th century to the late 19th century, were meticulously hand-cut, giving them a charming, organic, and one-of-a-kind appeal - they're just gorgeous!

This piece is in stunning antique condition, signs of use and wear as expected with age. The diamonds are in fabulous condition, secure within settings - they have wear such as inclusions visible when under magnification, some knocks here and there and one of the end stones has a small crack. The shank/band is in great condition with minimal wear. Some wear to the gallery & settings.

Central diamond measures approximately 3.7mm in diameter. The flanking diamonds measure approximately 3.5mm in diameter and the diamonds on either end measure approximately 3.2mm diameter. Total ring face size is 17.3mm x 5.5mm, profile/height from finger measures 4mm.
