Description
Truly wonderful piece of mourning jewellery, this ring is crafted in 9 carat rose gold which has a lovely glow to it. The focal point of this piece is a plait of intricately woven brunette hair. Hairwork jewellery was popular in the Victorian era, a token of love, remembrance or mourning. This gorgeous piece has the most beautiful foliate engraved shoulders which trifurcate up to the face of the ring.
Engraved with 'Auntie Fan 1909' with hallmarks from the Chester assay office, with the date letter for 1908-1909.
