Description
Description
A lovely chunky sterling silver identity bracelet, hallmarked for 1975. This piece has a sturdy, heavy feel to it, the curb links crafted in solid silver with the large identity panel which is blank and ready to be engraved.
The lion passant is stamped on every link, each link measuring 6.9mm x 3.8mm. Finished with a bolt ring, this chain oozes a classic, antique inspired feel. The first ID bracelets were worn by American servicemen during World War II as part of their uniform. They started out as bent metal bands or heavy chains with a metal plate. These bands or plates were engraved with name, rank and serial number and was a means to identify the soldier. Nowadays, these bracelets are one of the most popular choices for personalised jewellery.
