A beautifully delicate Art Nouveau ruby paste lavaliere pendant, crafted in 9 carat gold and dating to the 1900s. This elegant piece is rich in symbolism and flowing detail, with a gentle, feminine presence that feels effortlessly romantic.

The pendant features a dainty openwork frame, softly rounded and finished with fine beaded detailing that adds depth and texture throughout. At the centre sits a vivid ruby paste stone, measuring approximately 4mm in diameter, glowing with rich pink red tones and catching the light beautifully.

Surrounding the central stone are four forget me not flowers, each intricately formed and wonderfully detailed. In the Victorian language of flowers, forget me nots symbolise eternal love, devotion, and remembrance, giving this piece a deeply sentimental meaning. The floral motifs are balanced and graceful, enhancing the organic, nature inspired character typical of Art Nouveau jewellery.

Completing the classic lavaliere form, a matching ruby paste drop hangs below, adding movement and sparkle while drawing the eye downward. Light, refined and full of character, this pendant is a lovely survivor from the turn of the twentieth century and a truly charming antique jewel.

Condition report

This piece is in beautiful antique condition, signs of use and wear as expected with age. Patina as shown and some bending to the metalwork, nothing that detracts from this piece and all expected with a piece of this age. A small chip to the central stone which is not visible to the eye unless magnified under a jeweller's loupe, detailed for accuracy. There is no chain included with this piece. The bail loop is slightly misshapen however in perfect function.
