Antique edwardian amethyst paste & seed pearl pendant necklace, 9 carat gold

The pendant frame is formed as a gently rounded triangle, finished with a trio of seed pearl summits that add softness and symmetry. Suspended from the frame is a charming trifurcated flower or star motif, composed of three diamond or rhombus shaped sections. Each is set with a soft lilac amethyst paste stone, bezel set and arranged around a single central seed pearl.

The paste stones provide a gentle, luminous glow, while the seed pearls display a wonderful natural lustre, shimmering subtly as they move. The pendant itself is crafted in 14 carat rolled gold, a traditional technique developed in 1785 in which a thick layer of solid gold is bonded to a jeweller’s alloy, offering both beauty and durability.

The pendant is paired with a vintage fine rope or cable link chain, crafted in solid 9 carat gold and measuring 18 inches in length. The chain complements the delicacy of the pendant perfectly, allowing it to sit gracefully at the neckline.
