Antique edwardian citrine and seed pearl pendant, in 9ct gold
Antique edwardian citrine and seed pearl pendant, in 9ct gold
An unusual antique oval cut citrine and seed pearl pendant, dating to circa 1900. This Edwardian piece features an enormous faceted oval citrine of approximately 30ctw in a rich golden orange hue and a 9ct gold bail loop set with a sole seed pearl.
Rather than traditionally set, the citrine has been drilled at the top and suspended from a delicate gold mount, beautifully detailed with a tiny seed pearl and textural details. The contrast between the oversized, sparkling citrine and its dainty pearl-set bail loop gives this piece so much character, alongside a very playful feel.
The citrine itself measures 23.8mm x 20.4, with a depth of 14.1mm and has a lovely substantial feel to it, weighing 8.51g.
