Antique victorian blue enamel marcasite ring, in 9 carat gold
Antique victorian blue enamel marcasite ring, in 9 carat gold
An absolutely stunning Victorian blue enamel and marcasite ring, crafted in 9 carat gold and full of drama, elegance, and period charm. This striking floral piece has a wonderfully rich presence, with colour and sparkle working together to captivating effect.
The face of the ring is a deep, vibrant ocean blue enamel, which immediately draws the eye and gives the piece its bold, regal character. Surrounding the enamelled centre is a halo of rose cut marcasite stones, their metallic shimmer catching and reflecting the light beautifully. Often referred to as Fool’s Gold, marcasite is derived from pyrite and was especially popular in Victorian jewellery for its subtle sparkle and allure.
At the heart of the design sits an ornate floral motif, also adorned with marcasite stones, adding further depth and intricacy to the face of the ring. The layered detailing creates a wonderfully elaborate look, rich in texture and craftsmanship.
This ring has a truly royal aura, with the contrast between the luminous blue enamel and the glittering marcasites giving it a dramatic yet refined elegance. It is hallmarked 9CT to the shank, and remains a beautiful example of Victorian decorative jewellery.
A rare and eye catching piece, full of colour, sparkle, and history, and a very special addition to any antique jewellery collection.
