Antique victorian diamond and sapphire bangle, in 9 carat gold

A refined Victorian hinged bangle, hallmarked for 1896 and crafted in warm 9 carat gold.

The front panel is set with a row of alternating old mine cut diamonds and deep blue sapphires, each stone mounted within delicate star-shaped settings that catch the light beautifully across the polished surface.

The alternating arrangement creates a pleasing rhythm of light and colour, with the soft brilliance of the old cut diamonds contrasting against the rich blue of the sapphires. The central diamond is slightly larger and framed within a more pronounced star setting, drawing the eye to the centre of the piece.

The bangle itself has a graceful oval form designed to sit comfortably on the wrist. The smooth face of the piece is flanked by finely engraved geometric decorations typical of late Victorian gold work, while the hinged construction is fitted with its original safety chain, a practical detail commonly included in Victorian bangles. The reverse of the bangle has a wavy design, each bar gently curving.
