Antique victorian old cut diamond and pearl ring, in 18 carat gold

A beautifully balanced Victorian diamond and pearl band ring, crafted in rich 18 carat gold and fully hallmarked for Chester, 1888. This piece is defined by its symmetry and softness.

The flat band is set with eight lustrous seed pearls arranged in two neat quartets, each pearl prong set and separated by delicate forget me not style spacers. At the centre sits a single old cut diamond, framed within a crisp square of solid high carat gold. Though petite in size, the diamond is wonderfully lively, catching the light beautifully and offering flashes of gentle fire.
