Antique victorian old cut diamond and pearl brooch pendant, in 15 carat gold
Antique victorian old cut diamond and pearl brooch pendant, in 15 carat gold
This pretty floral piece is decorated with a sea of radiant seed pearls in an openwork formation, with a stunning central old cut diamond with fabulous clarity taking centre-stage. This Victorian (c.1890s) beauty has a graduated multi-level form to it, creating such depth and character and allowing for a lovely collection of fine details and craftsmanship. The outer frame takes on the shape of a Forget-Me-Not flower, seen often in Victorian jewellery with huge sentiment in its symbolism. Blooming at the centre of this frame is a gorgeous stippled star flower, each petal hosting larger, luminous seed pearls.
The centrepiece is an old cut diamond, impressive in both size and sparkle. The stone is carefully bezel set, with a high relief and tiny table, each facet glowing. The diamond measures approximately 3.1mm in diameter. This piece has resplendent hues of 15 carat gold throughout, fitted with both a brooch c-catch and a pendant loop, allowing for versatility in wear.
