Antique victorian pearl and amethyst pendant, in 9 carat gold
Antique victorian pearl and amethyst pendant, in 9 carat gold
A beautifully detailed late Victorian pendant crafted in warm 9 carat gold, featuring a pear-shaped amethyst drop suspended within an open circular wreath design.
The pendant is structured around a delicate clover motif at the top, set with graduating seed pearls, from which a fine gold stem supports the amethyst. The central stone is a faceted pear cut, rich violet in tone, and bezel set in gold, allowing the depth of colour to show through beautifully in the light.
Encircling the drop is a light, openwork garland composed of alternating seed pearls and marquise-shaped gold leaves. The pearls are individually set in small gold cups, creating a softly scalloped outline around the frame. The overall shape forms an elegant oval wreath, balanced and symmetrical, with gentle movement from the suspended drop.
The bail is also pearl-set, tying the design together and giving the piece a refined, cohesive finish. The scale is delicate but visually impactful, with strong contrast between the luminous pearls and the saturated amethyst.
