A truly special late Victorian band ring, decorated with rubies and pearls, crafted in 15ct gold and hallmarked for 1897.

This beautiful ring feels every bit the heirloom and is a wonderful example of the craftsmanship in jewellery from the late Victorian to early Edwardian period.

The ring features a flat, gently tapered band that leads into delicately etched shoulders, drawing the eye towards the gem-set face of the ring. At its centre sits an arrangement of six seed pearls, soft cream in tone and lovely natural lustre. These are flanked on either side by two hand cut rubies, vivid in colour and each framed within a lozenge shaped setting.

The warmth of the 15 carat gold, with its subtly rosy hue, complements the gemstones beautifully - this band looks lovely on the finger.

Condition report

This ring is in beautiful antique condition, signs of use and wear as expected with age. The stones are in well-kept condition, minor blemishes only visible under a jeweller's loupe and not noticeable at all when being worn. Two seed pearls are of a different lustre which suggests there may have been some previous repair or replacement. The band is in wonderful condition, a few age related marks but amazing condition for its age.
