Antique victorian trefoil crescent moon pin, in 18 carat gold
Antique victorian trefoil crescent moon pin, in 18 carat gold
Absolutely stunning piece, this gorgeous Victorian stick pin is adorned with the likes of pearls, a ruby, a sapphire and a diamond. This central trefoil is framed by a crescent moon, representing new beginnings and female empowerment in the Victorian language of symbolism. The nine seed pearls are well matched, with a beautiful lustre to them. The topper is crafted in 18 carat gold, bright and shiny, the pin in a rose gold yellow metal.
The floral or lucky clover motif takes is form centrally, with two beautiful leaves either side the stem and the trefoil studded by a ruby, an old cut diamond and a sapphire. In the Victorian era, sapphires symbolized fidelity, loyalty, and wisdom, while rubies represented passion, love, and desire. Diamonds were often associated with eternal love and enduring strength. The combination of these gems in this piece conveys a message of fidelity, eternal love and new beginnings with the crescent moon.
