Vintage ruby and diamond bombe ring, in 14 carat gold
Vintage ruby and diamond bombe ring, in 14 carat gold
A striking mid century ruby and diamond bombe ring, crafted in rich 14 carat gold and dating to the circa 1970s. Bold, sculptural, and beautifully balanced, this piece has a confident presence and an unmistakable cocktail ring appeal.
At the centre sits a vivid bezel set ruby, glowing with deep pink red tones and framed by a halo of eleven bright diamonds. The diamonds add a lively sparkle that contrasts beautifully with the smooth, polished gold and draws the eye straight to the heart of the ring.
The ring is formed in a rounded, domed signet style, with a chunky bombe profile that feels both substantial and refined. The face has a target like appearance, sculptural in form and wonderfully tactile, while the generous height gives the ring real impact when worn. Despite its bold proportions, the design remains elegant and well balanced on the finger.
Hallmarked 585, indicating 14 carat gold, this piece was likely imported to the UK. Weighing 4.81 grams, it has a satisfying weight and a luxurious feel.
Ruby is the birthstone for July, symbolising love, passion, and vitality, while diamonds are the birthstone for April, representing strength and enduring commitment. A confident and glamorous ring, perfect for those who love bold vintage design with timeless gemstone appeal.
